Ivan Chebeskov from the Department of Financial Policy of the Ministry of Finance of Russia has said at a conference on digital assets and that the ministry does not support the idea of a complete ban on Bitcoin and other virtual currencies.
Chebeskov has announced that the Ministry of Finance has prepared its own concept for regulating relations in the crypto industry.
The agency has sent this document to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration, which could become the basis for the formation of the official position of the Russian authorities on this issue.
The Finance Ministry wants to regulate the industry, not ban it, said the spokesman for the Department of Financial Policy. From an economic point of view, it is more profitable to give people and companies the opportunity to legally work with innovative tools, and not to use repression against them.
