The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has recently published the requirements companies and individuals must meet if they want to promote crypto investments.
The organization has been somehow forced to intervene as investment in Bitcoin and other virtual currencies has been popularized on the Internet and on television over the past few months in the country.
It is worth mentioning that the crypto industry is not yet legalized in India. In order to agree on a unified position on this issue, representatives of crypto exchanges held talks with Indian officials in mid-February.
Although the parties could not reach a compromise, the trading platforms admitted the first step towards the legalization of the crypto market has actually been taken.
The ASCI statement notes that starting in April next year, all crypto-related companies advertising investments in bitcoin must warn users that they do not bear any responsibility for the loss of the invested funds.
Videos need to clearly tell people about the risks of cryptocurrency investments.
