Elon Musk’s younger brother Kimbal believes cryptocurrencies threaten the environment. In an interview with Input, he has said he is concerned about the negative impact of Bitcoin and other digital currencies on the environment.
Tesla started last year to accept Bitcoin payments, and its CEO spoke about investing in BTC.
In May, he announced the company would stop accepting cryptocurrencies citing environmental threats posed by mining as the reason. However, this did not stop Elon Musk from popularizing the mem tokens Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
Kimbal Musk, who is on the board of directors of Tesla and SpaceX, also believes Bitcoin provokes an environmental crisis.
According to Kim, Ethereum 2.0 will become the network of the future if its developers manage to significantly reduce power consumption after the update.
