El Corte Ingles, the third largest retail and distribution company in Spain, plans to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange to satisfy the interests of clients who are interested in investing in digital assets.
According to the company, to create the trading platform, El Corte Ingles has entered into a partnership with Deloitte, one of the Big Four firms, which will reportedly serve more than 11 million customers. The new platform was named Bitcor and will support the main cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets.
The retailer registered last year the name Bitcor with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on an expedited basis to provide “financial services, financial transactions related to currency exchange and foreign exchange trading.”
