NFT Collector Loses 100 ETH in Failed ENS Domain Sale Joke

An NFT collector has recently lost 100 ETH in a playful bet on his self-registered Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain.

A user under the pseudonym Franklinisbored, who owns 57 tokens of the BAYC collection, registered the stop-doing-fake-bids-its-hoestly-lame-my-guy.eth ENS domain through an alternative wallet. He then staked 100 ETH from his main address.

According to him, it was intended as a joke as he wanted to poke fun at the ENS Bids Twitter bot by having him write about a major domain bid.

The collector then sold the domain to an anonymous user for 1.9 ETH and tweeted about it, calling it “the most amazing earnings ever.”

However, he forgot to cancel his own bid of 100 ETH, which the new owner accepted 15 minutes after the sale.
