Socios platform owner Chiliz has invested $100 million in NFTs and the FC Barcelona metaverse.
The company has reportedly acquired a 24.5% stake in Barça Studios, the digital content creation division of the Spanish football giant.
According to Socios representatives, the deal is aimed at developing the club’s Web3 ecosystem, including new products and features.
Barcelona decided to issue tokens for fans in 2020.
In March this year, the football club announced plans to create its own crypto.
