El Salvador, which legalized Bitcoin in 2021, has been in the top three countries with the largest number of cryptocurrency terminals. However, this Latin American state has been bypassed by Spain.
According to CoinATMRadar data, as of January 9, there are 33,945, 2,652, and 275 Bitcoin ATMs installed in the US, Canada, and Spain, respectively.
El Salvador has even dropped out of the top five and now ranks sixth with “only” 212 terminals.
The fourth and fifth places are held by Australia and Poland with 224 and 223 crypto ATMs.
The pace of installation of new terminals for transactions with cryptocurrencies slowed down last year significantly compared the 2 previous years.
