The brother of Helix crypto mixer founder Larry Harmon, Gary Harmon, has pleaded guilty to stealing more than 712 BTC confiscated by the US government.

The sentencing hearing has been scheduled for March 17. We should note that the charge of obstruction of justice carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

Larry Harmon was arrested in the United States in February 2020 for reportedly laundering more than $300 million through darknet markets. The US authorities confiscated various assets from him, including a device for storing Bitcoins, but could not gain access to the cryptocurrency.

Gary Harmon used his brother’s accounts and secretly transferred more than 712 BTC from the gadget to his address in order to prevent the confiscation of the assets.
