The Supreme Court of Korea has ordered Bithumb to pay a total of $202,400 in a lawsuit filed by 132 investors as compensation for damages due to the temporary suspension of the platform.
According to a local publication, the incident took place on November 2017, when then the services were inactive for an hour and a half.
The district court initially dismissed the lawsuit, forcing the investors to file an appeal. The Supreme Court issued the opposite verdict.
According to the resolution:
“The burden of technological failures should be borne by the service operator, and not by its users who pay a commission for the service.”
