ConsenSys has just added the privacy settings of popular non-custodial wallet MetaMask to its browser extension in order to ease the process of switching RPC providers.

From now on, existing users can find the option to change the RPC provider in the Settings menu, whereas new users can find it in the “Setting advanced privacy settings.”

Users can also set additional options for sending requests to third party services (for phishing detection and incoming transaction identification).

ConsenSys announced in November 2022 an update to the privacy policy which received a lot of criticism from the community. Users indicated a decrease in their privacy and an increase in the risks of identifying individuals for law enforcement actions.
