Stellar CEO Calls for Regulation of Stablecoins

If stablecoins are not regulated in the US this year, the US dollar may be adversely affected, according to Stellar CEO Denelle Dixon in an interview with Bloomberg.

She believes that this may lead to the emergence of a “bifurcated world”, in which the US is not on the same level with other countries when it comes to crypto-friendly legislation.

Dixon suggests that the focus should shift from technology to utility in order to demonstrate value for users.

Stablecoins currently make up around 10.5% of the total crypto market capitalization, and she points out that it is critical that they be accepted and regulated in America, as the majority of them are pegged to the US dollar.
