Since 2017, Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has been highly critical of Bitcoin. In February 2020, he stated that BTC and other virtual currencies have no collateral, and reiterated this view on CNBC recently.
Despite the cryptocurrency’s value rising by more than 80% this year, Buffett has declared he will not invest in it, referring to it as a gamble.
His deputy, Charlie Munger, has also expressed criticism, even going as far as calling for the US government to ban bitcoin, like China has done.
