Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has announced that the US crypto exchange is ready to file a lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Armstrong has commented on the SEC claims sent to the exchange last month, and has stated that the company does not rule out having to leave the US jurisdiction if increased control over the digital currency market is enforced.

Armstrong has noted that this potential confrontation could last for several years. In an interview with CNBC, Armstrong has admitted that Coinbase might be the first to file a lawsuit against the SEC.

The company believes that the regulator is applying sanctions against market participants without having the necessary authority to do so.

Armstrong has added that the industry in the United States has not yet been legalized, and the authorities are only preparing a bill to regulate it.
