BNB Chain Developers Release the Luban Update

Reading time: < 1 minute

The developers of BNB Chain have successfully activated the Luban network upgrade, bringing three solutions to the table (BEP-126, BEP-174, and BEP-221) with BEP-126 being the most essential.

This upgrade provides enhanced security, reducing threats of double-spending attacks and MEV reorganizations, making transactions irreversible after confirmation, and optimizing functionality for exchanges and DeFi protocols.

However, this upgrade does not directly increase transaction speed or reduce fees.

BEP-174 introduced a method of managing relays to better coordinate asset transportation, and BEP-221 initiated simplified block validation.

As Luban has been activated, Polyhedra Network has also announced support for the hard fork by introducing their zkBridge cross-chain solution as well as a lightweight zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) client for the LayerZero protocol.
