Gemini has just extended their Ethereum Staking Pro service to the UK.
The service is designed for institutional customers and allows them to lock up an amount of 32 ETH (at the time of writing, this would be around $60,000).
The staking interface is already available in the exchange app. Representatives of Gemini also noted that services are not FCA regulated and promised to compensate customers for any potential penalties incurred from staking.
To further entice their customers, Gemini will be running individual validator nodes for each Staking Pro user so as to ease any technical struggles.
Staking Pro is available in over 30 countries outside the UK, namely in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, and the USA (minus New York State).
As of now, there are approximately 22.5 million ETH locked in staking (~$42.3 billion) according to Glassnode, with 51,780 coins in the withdrawal queue amounting to $96.9 million.
This May, the Winklevoss brothers, Cameron and Tyler (Gemini founders) declared they had plans to open a second headquarters for their firm in London, citing the US’s “hostile” regulatory climate.
