Tether Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Georgia in order to promote blockchain technologies and other cryptocurrency innovations in the country.

As part of this arrangement, Tether will create a fund dedicated to providing assistance to local startups developing blockchain-based services.

Tether plans to foster the adoption of digital payments and communication systems based upon peer-to-peer technologies in both public and private sectors.

Additionally, they will be working to provide educational programs and initiatives to help improve the skill sets of both students and professionals related to blockchain, stablecoins, and P2P technologies.

Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether, has commented:

“This collaboration strengthens Tether’s position as an innovative infrastructure partner for cities and countries around the world.”

It should be noted that in May of this year, Tether Limited and the University of Business and Technology of Georgia signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cryptocurrency and blockchain related education in the country.
