Starknet Devs Activate Quantum Leap Update

Reading time: < 1 minute

StarkWare, the company behind the L2 project Starknet, has released a highly anticipated Quantum Leap update in order to improve system throughput.

Testing at Goerli showed a stable result of 37 TPS and an intermittent output of 90 TPS, a huge jump from the original 10 TPS.

During testing, the indicator achieved triple digits at its maximum. The team is aiming to obtain this value by the third quarter.

Quantum Leap also reduces latency to 10 seconds in usual conditions. The developers of StarkWare anticipate their update will increase scalability of Ethereum applications in areas such as DeFi and gaming.

Version 13 of the platform is set to launch this year, with decreased costs of transactions.

Furthermore, the team has planned for an extra fee for high-priority transactions in the near future, which will create competition for block space on the L2 network.

Finally, analyst Colin Wu hinted at a possible utility token airdrop for 2024 in the StarkNet roadmap.
