At the Family Leaders Summit, US presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has restated his opposition to the introduction of a digital dollar in the United States, promising to ban the CBDC if he wins the election.

He is advocating that the decision to abandon such currency should be done on the first day of his presidency.

The ban would also affect the assets of foreign securities and would transfer power from consumers to the central government.

In a similar light, Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., another US presidential candidate, has also expressed criticism for the CBDC.

According to him, digital currencies are “the highest mechanism of social monitoring and control.” On the other hand, DeSantis indicated that he would defend Bitcoin if elected.
