The DFINITY Foundation, the group behind the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) ecosystem, is offering a grant program worth $5 million for the advancement of DeAI.
This program is divided into four levels of funding – $5,000, $25,000, $50,000, and $100,000 – and grants are available in the form of ICP tokens.
According to DFINITY Founder and Chief Scientist Dominic Williams, the purpose of the program is to bring together AI and blockchain technology more meaningfully than currently seen.
According to Williams, a lot of the “blockchain supporting AI” solutions proposed to date are simply integrating a wallet with something like ChatGPT, which is not real AI and blockchain integration.
DFINITY believes that using its “internet computer” network to train AI models can provide benefits such as working on a public and transparent network with trusted results.
Earlier this year, DFINITY launched the Sonic decentralized exchange on the Internet Computer network, and more recently introduced a token pegged to bitcoin – Chain-Key Bitcoin – at a ratio of 1:1.
