Gemini has introduced support for the XRP Ledger blockchain. This marks the 13th network integrated into the exchange’s platform. Traders will soon have the capability to exchange Ripple (XRP) for USD, with plans to extend trading pairs to GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, HKD, and SGD.
In a company statement, Gemini expressed that including the XRP Ledger aligns with their mission to empower the future of financial, creative, and personal autonomy. The roster of other supported blockchains on Gemini encompasses Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Polkadot, Avalanche, Cosmos, Zcash, Filecoin, Dogecoin, and Tezos.
Notably, Gemini follows the footsteps of fellow crypto entity QuickNode in offering recent support for the XRP Ledger. Ripple Labs, the entity behind XRP Ledger and its native token XRP, achieved a partial victory in a long-standing legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in July.
A judge determined that certain XRP sales did not violate US securities laws. Despite this, the SEC announced its intention to appeal the ruling on Wednesday.
