Over the course of the past three months, Gemini has transferred 118,000 BTC (approximately $3.08 billion) to a new wallet, which captured the attention of journalist Colin Wu.
The address was initially credited with its first incoming transaction on May 8, 2023, and now sits in third place regarding number of coins held, after the Binance exchange’s cold wallet (248,597 BTC) and the Bitfinex wallet (178,010 BTC).
At the moment, the Bitcoin volatility has already caused $94 million in losses. On August 14, an especially noteworthy transaction occurred when an ancient bitcoin wallet that was created back in 2010 moved 1,005 BTC.
