Circle, the issuer of the stablecoin USDC, has recently expanded its reach by deploying the stablecoin in the Polkadot ecosystem.
This move makes the dollar-backed stablecoin even more widely available on various blockchains. Polkadot is an interoperability network that connects different blockchains, known as parachains.
The USDC has been issued on the Polkadot Asset Hub, a “system parachain” that functions as an asset issuance platform for the ecosystem.
With the help of the XCM protocol, the stablecoin can now be exchanged and used by all interconnected parachains and their users within the Polkadot ecosystem.
Furthermore, several projects on Polkadot, such as Centrifuge, HydraDX, and Moonbeam, have adopted USDC as their primary stablecoin for their users.
