Tether Blocks $873.118M Linked to Hackers and Terrorists

According to reports, the Israeli authorities have requested the Coinbase and Binance exchanges to freeze funds in crypto wallets linked to Hamas entities.

These have confiscated digital currencies will be handed over to the Middle Eastern state’s authorities.

Tether has also announced that it has blocked USDT tokens owned by terrorist groups, freezing a total of $873.118 million.

This action was taken after the National Bureau of Counter-Terrorism Financing (NBCTF) of Israel requested the freeze of these funds.

Moreover, Tether has pledged to strengthen its efforts in monitoring the flow of funds involving USDT to combat cybercrime globally.

The company also expressed its commitment to confiscate any digital currency stolen by hackers or scammers.
