SK Telecom (SKT), a major telecommunications company in South Korea, has announced that it will be launching a new Web3 wallet service, called T wallet, in collaboration with Aptos Labs and Atomrigs Lab, two leading blockchain companies.
This move is in line with SK Telecom’s long-term plan to offer a blockchain wallet for both cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which was first announced in July 2022.
The initial partnership included AhnLab Blockchain Company and Atomix Lab, and aimed to develop and manage a Web3 wallet.
According to the recent announcement, SK Telecom intends to expand its partnerships with popular mainnets and decentralized applications (dApps) through its collaboration with these two blockchain companies.
They aim to provide a seamless and secure Web3 experience for their users by integrating T wallet into Aptos’ dApp ecosystem and adopting their MoveVM blockchain technology, which is outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) framework.
In a statement, SK Telecom emphasized its commitment to delivering a user-friendly and secure Web3 experience for its customers through this partnership.
