The average commission on the Bitcoin blockchain has surpassed the average commission on the Ethereum network, as interest in Ordinals has been renewed.
In the last week, the average transaction cost on Bitcoin has increased by 49%, rising from $8.59 to $12.75, while Ethereum’s average commission is currently at $7.55.
This increase in average fees has been driven by the recent surge in Ordinals issuance and trading.
Daily Ordinals issuance rose during November after a significant decline in September and October. To date, approximately 42.6 million Bitcoin NFTs have been issued since the protocol’s launch, with a total commission volume of 2952 BTC ($109 million).
