According to analyst Markus Thielen, Matrixport is skeptical about the possibility of Bitcoin ETFs launching on the American market in January.
Thielen believes that it won’t be until mid-2024 that the tool will finally be available in the US.
A recent survey conducted by Bitwise among 437 financial advisors, including institutional investors and financial planners, shows that only 39% of them believe that exchange-traded crypto funds will launch this year.
However, the majority of advisors are confident that spot crypto funds will eventually make their way onto the American market, but they anticipate it will take some time for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to approve the applications.
With 87% of respondents expecting crypto spot funds to appear within the next few years, it is clear that the regulator will not rush to legalize this instrument. In fact, 22% of advisors believe that Bitcoin ETFs will not make their debut until 2025, while another 24% predict it will happen after that.
