Ripple CEO Does Not Confirm Rumors Regarding ETFs Based on XRP

Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed enthusiasm about the potential emergence of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on XRP, but did not disclose any specific plans during an interview with Bloomberg.

He declined to comment on potential negotiations with asset manager BlackRock about launching an XRP-ETF, stating that Ripple is not the only important participant in the XRP ecosystem.

In 2013, there were rumors about BlackRock filing an application for an XRP-ETF, which were later denied and resulted in a police report being filed.

At the moment, there is no XRP-based ETF in the US, but European markets do offer asset-based ETPs through companies like CoinShares and 21Shares.

Garlinghouse expressed optimism about the potential for an XRP ETF, likening it to the early days of the stock market when diversification was important for risk management.
