Kraken has reassured its users that it will not delist the Tether stablecoin USDT in Europe and will continue to comply with all legal requirements.

The exchange’s global head of asset growth and management, Mark Greenberg, addressed concerns about the potential delisting of USDT in Europe, stating that European users value having access to USDT and the company is exploring all options to continue offering it under the new regulations.

The European Union has introduced new regulations known as the Markets in Crypto Assets regulation (MiCA), which will focus on stablecoins – crypto assets that aim to maintain a stable value relative to traditional currencies.

This announcement comes after Kraken settled charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in November 2023, months after the SEC filed a lawsuit against the exchange for allegedly operating an unlicensed securities trading platform.
