The National Securities Commission (CNV) of Argentina discussed the regulation and adoption of the first cryptocurrency with officials from El Salvador’s National Commission for Digital Assets (CNAD).
The meeting was led by CNV President Roberto Silva and Vice President Patricia Boedo, together with CNAD head Juan Carlos Reyes.
In September 2021, El Salvador became the first country to recognize Bitcoin as a legal tender. According to CNV representatives, the country has become a pioneer in the region for its development and use of cryptocurrency.
CNV President Silva praised El Salvador for its advancements in the world of crypto assets, stating that the country’s establishment of the CNAD has allowed it to gain valuable experience in this area.
During her visit to El Salvador in March, Vice President Boedo emphasized the importance of establishing strong relationships with government agencies that have expertise in overseeing digital assets.
