Crypto.com, a popular platform for digital currency trading, has been given regulatory approval to operate lawfully in the Republic of Ireland.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, the company announced that it has been certified by the Central Bank of Ireland to function as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP).
With a user base of over 100 million globally, the company can now offer its full range of services in Ireland, including exchanging crypto for fiat currencies and providing custody services. All of these operate in accordance with local regulatory policies.
Before receiving the final approval from the Central Bank to enter the market, Crypto.com underwent thorough scrutiny.
The bank carefully reviewed the company’s measures for compliance, especially in terms of anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT).
