Donald Trump reaffirmed his backing for the Bitcoin mining industry on Wednesday following a meeting with top executives from various crypto mining companies in the United States.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on June 11, Trump stated his desire for the remaining Bitcoin to be produced in the USA in order to make the country “energy dominant.”

He also declared Bitcoin as the country’s “last line of defense” against a potential central bank digital currency, in contrast to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s statement in March that the US has no plans to adopt a central bank digital currency at this time.

Trump’s meeting with the mining executives took place at Mar-a-Lago, his residence in Florida, and included CEOs and board members from companies such as Riot Platforms, CleanSpark, and TeraWulf.
