VanEck Files Form 8-A for its Spot Ethereum ETF

Fund manager VanEck yesterday submitted another form to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, indicating that the approval process for a spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund is moving forward.

VanEck filed a Form 8-A, showing that its Ethereum product has registered and is now allowed to be traded on an exchange once it is approved.

This comes after other firms also seeking to create an Ethereum ETF filed amended registration statements, called S-1s (or S-3 for Grayscale, which is seeking to convert its Ethereum Trust to an ETF).

Last month, the SEC approved 19b-4 forms for eight Ethereum ETFs, but the registration statements still need to be approved before trading can begin.

Similar to what happened with companies applying for a bitcoin ETF spot, the firms filed Form 8-As approximately a week prior to listing and trading their products after receiving SEC approval.
