In order to reach the first billion mainstream cryptocurrency adopters, it will be necessary to develop more user-friendly applications.
According to senior director of engineering at Coinbase Chintan Turakhia, the current process for onboarding new users is overly complicated and full of obstacles, which is the biggest barrier to widespread adoption of cryptocurrency.
Turakhia believes that in order to successfully attract millions of new users, it is crucial to eliminate these obstacles and create a smoother onboarding experience.
Some of the major pain points in the current process include setting up a wallet with a complex seed phrase, paying high transaction fees, and purchasing blockchain-native tokens to use on the network.
