BlackRock: Investors Will Not Be Interested in Crypto ETFs Beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum

Reading time: < 1 minute

During the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, BlackRock’s head of digital assets, Robert Mitchnick, shared that the company’s clients seem to have minimal interest in cryptocurrencies outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

He also anticipates that there won’t be a large number of crypto exchange-traded funds beyond these two core digital assets.

However, not all asset managers share this view, as Franklin Templeton, who also offers BTC and ETH ETFs, is hopeful about the possibility of more crypto ETFs being introduced in the future, such as a Solana product.

BlackRock launched its first crypto ETFs, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA), in January and July, respectively.
