According to BlackRock’s chief investment officer for ETFs, it is likely that digital currency-backed exchange-traded funds will be included in “model portfolios” by the end of 2024.
In a recent Bloomberg interview, Samara Cohen, BlackRock’s investment chief for ETF and Index Investments, was asked about the progress of major wirehouses such as Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and UBS in onboarding and promoting crypto ETFs.
Cohen stated that these wirehouses are currently analyzing risk, conducting due diligence, and considering the roles of Bitcoin and Ether in their portfolios.
She also mentioned that by the end of this year and into next year, model portfolios will see allocations being made to give more insight on how investors are utilizing cryptocurrency.
Model portfolios, which are offered by large brokerage firms, aim to provide a balanced and diversified investment approach through a transparent strategy.
