The City of Santa Monica in California has established a dedicated Bitcoin Office with the aim of promoting education, identifying potential economic opportunities, and solidifying its reputation as a hub for innovation in the cryptocurrency industry.
This office is closely collaborating with Proof of Workforce, a non-profit organization that specializes in educating the workforce, labor unions, and pension funds about Bitcoin.
The creation of this new office was approved unanimously by the Santa Monica city council on July 11 and its webpage was launched on the evening of August 8.
While there are no specific plans mentioned on the office’s webpage, it has been announced that the city will be hosting a Bitcoin festival in October.
