On Tuesday, the hacker who stole $230 million in user assets from Indian crypto exchange WazirX began moving funds using Tornado Cash, a service that allows for the exchange of tokens while concealing wallet addresses on different blockchains.

While Tornado Cash itself is not illegal, it is often utilized by crypto criminals to hide the origin of stolen funds.

The hacker moved around $4 million worth of ether in 16 transactions on the Ethereum network to a Tornado Cash router.

This address currently holds about $155 million in various tokens, mostly in ether, and has not previously made any transfers to Tornado Cash.
