The Office of Customer Education and Outreach (OCEO) of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has teamed up with the American Bankers Association Foundation and other federal agencies to disseminate targeted information and educate the public about investment scams related to cryptocurrencies.
They have developed an infographic and an investor alert in collaboration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission and other organizations to help viewers recognize and avoid these types of scams.
The OCEO hopes that these partnerships will spread their education message and prevent more people from falling victim to “pig butchering” scams, which cost Americans billions each year.
