Solana Mobile announced at the Token 2049 conference on Thursday that its parent company, Solana Labs, plans to release their second cryptocurrency phone in 2025.
Named Seeker, this improved handheld device will have better battery life, a stronger camera, and a lighter design compared to the previous model, Saga.
Emmet Hollyer, the project manager for Solana Labs’ phone division, also mentioned that Seeker will have specific improvements for crypto use.
The device will come with a specialized built-in crypto wallet that utilizes the device’s partitioned Seed Vault key storage, allowing for easier and more secure crypto transactions.
Seeker is a strategic move for Solana, following the success of their previous phone despite initial struggles with low sales.
