Asset manager Canary Capital has recently submitted an S-1 form to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to establish a Litecoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

This marks the first application for a Litecoin-based ETF in the US and comes just a week after their filing for an XRP ETF on October 8.

Canary Capital’s CEO and founder Steven McClurg was previously the chief investment officer at Valkyrie Investments, which he co-founded with Leah Wald.

According to Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, Litecoin is often considered a “fair launch” because there was no pre-mine or token sale associated with its creation.
