According to a recent survey, the majority of Salvadorans have not embraced the country’s adoption of Bitcoin as a legal currency, with only 7.5% reported to have used it in transactions.
The survey, conducted by San Salvador University Francisco Gavidia on October 10, polled 1,224 adult citizens of El Salvador, revealing that around 92% of them do not make transactions using the cryptocurrency.
Out of the respondents, 0.5% chose not to answer the question on Bitcoin usage.
These findings show a slight decrease from a previous survey by the University of Central America’s public opinion institute in 2023, which found that 88% of Salvadorans did not use Bitcoin for transactions.
Aside from Bitcoin usage, the survey also looked into the citizens’ top political and economic concerns.
