The Constitutional Court of Montenegro has denied the appeal of Kwon Do-hyeong, also known as Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terraform Labs and a major player in the downfall of the TerraUSD (UST) stablecoin and its associated currency, Luna.
The court’s decision, released on December 24 and reported by local outlet Vijesti, confirmed the authority of the Justice Minister in matters of extradition, rejecting Kwon’s attempt to challenge the proceedings.
Kwon’s appeal was aimed at a ruling by the Supreme Court which nullified his extradition to South Korea and gave the decision over to Justice Minister Bojan Božović.
His legal team argued that this violated proper legal procedures and his rights to a fair trial and family life. However, the Constitutional Court found no evidence to support these claims, allowing the Justice Minister to have the final say on Kwon’s extradition.
