Trump Makes No Mention to Crypto on First Day in Office

On January 20, Donald Trump officially became the 47th president of the United States and delivered his inaugural address without any mention of digital assets.

Even after the White House unveiled Trump’s “America First Priorities,” no references to crypto or Bitcoin were included.

Additionally, his initial set of executive orders did not focus on cryptocurrency. Despite this, the Trumps’s recently launched memecoins have experienced significant losses, and Bitcoin has also declined from its all-time high on Jan. 20.

As of Jan. 21 at 4:50 am UTC, President Trump has finished his first day back in office and is expected to attend three inaugural balls in Washington, DC this evening. The White House has announced that Trump has signed 42 executive orders, memoranda, and proclamation actions, which they deem a “historic” first day.

However, none of these actions have addressed cryptocurrency so far. According to FOX reporter Eleanor Terrett, there may be two executive orders in the works, one banning a central bank digital currency and the other creating a crypto council. It is currently unclear when these orders will be signed.
