On Monday, Coinbase made a notable accomplishment by becoming the largest cryptocurrency exchange to be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom. This certification allows Coinbase to offer crypto services in the country for the first time, expanding its reach.
Keith Grose, the UK CEO of Coinbase, emphasized the significance of this step in an interview, stating that being registered with the FCA “opens up opportunities to launch new products and services.”
The registration process was challenging, as only a small percentage of applicants are accepted by the FCA.
According to reports, Coinbase has been working diligently over the past six months to obtain this approval. With this new status, the exchange can offer a wider range of services, including crypto and cash transactions for investors and traders in the UK.
