The US Securities and Exchange Commission has formally concluded its investigation into Crypto.com without taking any enforcement action.
In a March 27 blog post, Crypto.com shared the news, noting that it had previously received a Wells notice from the SEC and subsequently filed a lawsuit against the agency in October 2024.
The lawsuit, which argued that the SEC had overreached its authority, was dismissed in December. The investigation concluded with no penalties.
Nick Lundgren, Chief Legal Officer of Crypto.com, expressed satisfaction, saying, “We are pleased that the current SEC leadership decided to close its investigation into Crypto.com without enforcement action or settlement.”
He also criticized the previous SEC leadership for allegedly misusing its power to target the crypto industry.
