Warner Music Group Corporation (WMG) and the NFT game developer Splinterlands have entered into a partnership.
Thanks to the deal, label-affiliated musicians will be able to create and develop P2E games as a new source of revenue and empower fans.
Splinterlands, whose game was launched in 2018, has more than 1.8 million registered users and 450,000 of them are active on a daily basis.
Splinterlands co-founder and CEO Jesse Reich has commented on the deal:
“I look forward to collaborating at the intersection of gaming, music, crypto, NFT, DeFi and blockchain.”
The agreement will complement other WMG initiatives in the blockchain space. In 2021, the company agreed with Genies to create NFT avatars and merchandise. In January, WMG formed a partnership with digital collectibles platform Blockparty.
