An unknown attacker has hacked DeFi protocol Deus Finance DAO and stolen about $3 million, including 200,000 DAI and 1101.8 ETH, ftmscan has learned.

According to PeckShield, the losses of the project could be even more. While the Deus Finance team has confirmed it has fallen victim to a hack, it has stated the funds are safe and has promised to reveal more details on the incident at a later date.

PeckShield experts have reported that the attacker used flash instant loans to carry out the attack. The hack was possible through the manipulation of the oracle which determines the price in the USDC/DEI pair.

The hacker sent funds in ETH to the Tornado Cash mixing service in order to make it more difficult for researchers to find where the funds are finally transferred to.

The price of the native token of the DEUS protocol has fallen from $400 to about $200, however, at the moment, it has recovered to almost $330.
