DeFi platform WonderFi Technologies, which is backed by TV personality Kevin O’Leary, has agreed to buy Canadian crypto exchange Coinberry.
According to the press release, the deal is valued at about $30.3 million and the parties plan to close it in Q2 2022.
WonderFi’s goal is to strengthen its presence in Canada. The project has previously acquired the local trading platform Bitbuy and now the team is expanding this brand in Australia and plans to expand to the US by the end of 2022.
WonderFi strategic investor Kevin O’Leary has called the team’s purchases “extremely important.” He thinks this speaks of the foresight of the platform’s plans.
