Brazilian federal judges are receiving training on cryptocurrencies to prepare the judicial system for the increasing number of court cases involving digital assets.
Judges were instructed at a meeting of federal judges organized last week by Brazil’s Ministry of Justice to pay more attention to cryptocurrency-related offenses and the growing number of crimes involving cryptocurrencies.
The ministry has urged judges to pay attention to the fact that the volume of cryptocurrency trading in Brazil has increased dramatically in recent years. According to some estimates, ten million Brazilians own crypto assets.
At the summit, it was noted that due to the constant change of the crypto landscape, magistrates of higher courts need to expand their knowledge base, even though there are no norms for cryptocurrencies in Brazil.
