Cardano developers have submitted a proposal to hard fork Vasil on the testnet and launch a countdown to the mainnet upgrade.
According to them:
“With over 75% of testnet blocks generated by the new Vasil node (1.35.0), we now have good chain density to operate safely,” said Input Output Global (IOG).”
The changes will take effect on July 3 after the start of epoch 215 on the testnet. According to the project developers, the community has requested a minimum period of four weeks to test the update ahead of the mainnet hardfuck.
IOG has said:
“Once everyone is comfortable and ready, we will go through the same process to upgrade the mainnet to Vasil.”
The developers have emphasized that the main task is to ensure reliable and secure management of network upgrades.
